eVis Event Browser: Unsung QGIS feature
I feel the eVis is such a powerful QGIS tool though not optimized to the hilt. I can see it has such enormous potentials at providing information clearly because it associates an image or video clip to a GIS feature and it is a fact that people think with images not text. However, people are generally so obsessed that GIS is either mapping or spatial analysis that they fail to see this, big guns included. Tourist and business agencies, if they only knew how to exploit it, I believe they could increase their profit margin dramatically but who am I but Mr. Nobody so I share it will only those who are interested in visiting my humble blog. The user merely needs to 'teach' the QGIS software where the photos are stored, where the application that actives the photo or video clip resides and which photo/video goes to which feature. When all that has been done, just use the eVis ID tool and select the appropriate feature and the photo/video clip pops out (It is advised that any video clip should never exceed 20 seconds/clip or else it will take too long to download and people will get bored).
